HDBaseT HDMI Extenders
HDBaseT HDMI extenders are designed to transmit high-definition HDMI video and audio over twisted-pair Category cable for longer distances than standard HDMI cables. HDBaseT technology is commonly used for residential, commercial, digital signage, home theatre and multi-display AV installations.
Our range of HDBaseT HDMI extenders includes solutions for 4K UHD, HDMI 2.0, 18Gbps video, IR control and long-distance transmission over compatible Cat5e, Cat6 or Cat7 cabling. Depending on the model, HDBaseT can also support additional signals such as Ethernet, USB, audio and control functions.
HDBaseT is particularly useful when an HDMI source needs to be connected to a display located a significant distance away. A typical installation uses an HDBaseT transmitter connected to the HDMI source, Category cable between the transmitter and receiver, and an HDBaseT receiver connected to the remote HDMI display.
Choose an HDBaseT extender based on the required resolution, refresh rate, transmission distance, cable type, number of displays and additional features such as IR, ARC, USB or KVM.
What Is an HDBaseT HDMI Extender?
An HDBaseT HDMI extender is a transmitter-and-receiver system that carries HDMI audio and video over Category cable such as Cat5e, Cat6 or Cat7.
Instead of running a long HDMI cable between the source and display, the HDMI signal is connected to an HDBaseT transmitter. The signal is transmitted through the Category cable to a remote HDBaseT receiver, which outputs HDMI to the display.
Typical connection:
HDMI source → HDBaseT transmitter → Cat6 cable → HDBaseT receiver → HDMI display
