What Is a DVB-T Set Top Box?

A DVB-T set top box is a digital terrestrial television receiver that receives compatible broadcast TV signals through a television antenna and converts them into audio and video for a TV or other compatible display.

A typical setup connects the antenna to the DVB-T receiver, then connects the receiver to the television using HDMI or another supported video connection.

Depending on the model, a DVB-T set top box may also provide features such as electronic program guides, USB recording, media playback, parental controls and digital audio output.

How Does a DVB-T Set Top Box Work?

TV antenna → DVB-T set top box → HDMI → TV

• The antenna receives terrestrial digital TV broadcasts.
• The DVB-T tuner receives the broadcast signal.
• The receiver decodes the digital television signal.
• HDMI or another video output sends the picture and sound to the TV.
• Compatible models can record programmes or play media through USB.
