HDMI to RCA Composite AV Converters
HDMI to RCA Composite AV Converters
Shop HDMI to RCA converters at Aus Electronics Direct for connecting modern HDMI devices to older televisions, projectors, video recorders and AV equipment with composite RCA inputs. These converters transform digital HDMI video and audio into analogue composite video and compatible stereo audio, making it easier to connect newer source devices to legacy displays.
Our range includes HDMI to composite AV converter boxes and converter cables, with selected models supporting HDMI input resolutions up to 1080p or 4K. Depending on the model, features may include PAL and NTSC output selection, stereo RCA audio, USB power and plug-and-play operation.
When choosing an HDMI to RCA converter, check the input resolution, composite output format, audio compatibility, power requirements and connection type. Most composite video outputs operate at standard-definition resolutions, even when the converter accepts a higher-resolution HDMI input.

What Is an HDMI to RCA Converter?
An HDMI to RCA converter changes a digital HDMI signal into analogue composite video and, on supported models, analogue stereo audio. It is commonly used to connect a modern media player, computer, set-top box or gaming device to an older TV with yellow, red and white RCA inputs.
The yellow RCA connector carries composite video, while the red and white connectors carry right and left analogue audio.
How Do You Connect HDMI to an Older TV?
-
Connect the HDMI source device to the converter's HDMI input.
-
Connect the yellow RCA output to the TV's composite video input.
-
Connect the red and white RCA audio outputs to the matching audio inputs.
-
Connect the converter's required power supply.
-
Select the correct AV input on the television and configure the source to a supported output format if necessary.
Some newer source devices may require additional compatibility checks, particularly for HDCP-protected content.
Does an HDMI to RCA Converter Support 4K?
Some converters accept HDMI input signals up to 4K, but composite RCA output is standard definition. A converter accepting a 4K input does not produce a 4K composite output.
Check the product's supported input resolutions and its PAL or NTSC output format before purchasing.
