These fans are designed to provide efficient airflow and longer service life in any mounting position. Connected with a 30cm lead to a 3-pin molex connector. (Ignore white signal wire if not needed.)

NOTE:
3 WIRE OR 2 WIRE A 3-wire fan has 2 wires for voltage (Red and Black) and the third wire (White) is producing RPM pulses so the computer can monitor if the fan is spinning. It is completely OK to ignore the third wire if the sensor is not required. For 4-wire fans, the additional 4th wire is for PWM control to allow the computer to adjust the fan speed. Not connecting the 4th wire results in the fan always being on (no speed control)
