IR Break Beam Sensor for detecting motion

These Infra-red Break Beam sensors are ideal sensor for detecting motion. These sensors have an emitter that sends out an invisible IR light beam which is received by the IR receiver with a maximum range of 25cm. When the IR light beam is interrupted / broken, the receiver sends a signal output. The IR receiver is an open collector transistor output and will need a pull up resistor for reading a digital signal off the signal output wire. Most microcontrollers have the ability to turn on a built-in pull up resistor. If not, connect a 10k resistor between the white wire of the receiver and the red wire.
