A concealed magnetic reed switch designed for use with metal door frames. Magnetic contact is widely used for alarm systems to detect the state of the door. It consists of a reed switch and a magnet. With the door closed, the magnet engages with the reed switch, the circuit is closed (normally closed N/C). When the door opens, the magnet disengages the reed switch, the circuit then becomes open. The open circuit can then be used to trigger an alarm.
