This module will provide a stable 5V USB source from any voltage source from 2.5V to 5V. This allows you to use a variety of Battery combinations; either alkaline or rechargeable batteries such as Ni-Cad, Ni-Mh or Lithium rechargeable variances. Input is via two solder pads, output is via a female USB socket.
