This PIR Sensor Module has an operating voltage of 5v to 20v. It has a high value of 3.3 volts and a low of 0 (it is either on or off). It's delay time can be adjusted from 5 to 200seconds as well as the sensing range from 3meter to 7meters. The entire sensor with the board is 32mm by 24mm (standard pir motion sensor). The sensor either gives off a 3.3 volt high value when motion is detected and then resumes or continues to give off a 0 voltage when no motion is detected. If you use an arduino or other micro controllers you can use the 3.3 volt out to power the sensor or use the 5volt power pin (vcc) to power the sensor.

PIR Motion Sensor Review

By: on 3 August 2017
The PIR Motion Sensor is an easy to use Arduino compatible module that is capable of sensing movement in a wide span with a long range, as well as sending that input back to the Arduino as a value. The PIR Motion Sensor has three required pins including the positive pin (connected to the 5V), the negative pin (connected to the GND), as well as the Signal pin which should be connected to a Digital Pin to collect the information received from the sensor. The input received from the PIR Motion Sensor is either a HIGH, or LOW value, 1 and 0 respectively. You can use this information within the coding phase of your Arduino project to maximise the potential of the module. For instance, I have created an Intruder Alarm System with the PIR Motion Sensor by activating an alarm whenever the sensor detects movement in certain areas. However, ensure to use this sensor with care as it is able to receive data from a large span within a large radius.
